Short Straw Bride by Karen Witemeyer.

Meredith Archer is still in love with Travis Archer, the boy who rescued her from a trap when she was but a girl. Given, he was the one who set the trap to ward off any visitors, but Meredith believes that he is the most gallant man she has met. When she overhears a dastardly plot to burn the infamous Archers off their prime land, she immediately escapes to warn them of the impending doom. When her uncle comes in the next day, she is caught in an awkward circumstance and forced to marry one of the brothers. Will her match be a dream come true, or will it turn out to be a nightmare?

I devoured this book. It took me mere hours to read. I loved the adorable personality of Meredith, as well as the protective, logical character of Travis. I enjoyed that there was a decent amount of suspense, and it was just fantastic the way Karen Witemeyer has woven the story together. My favorite scene was towards the end, and I won’t spoil it for you, but it was a great ending.  Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone ages 13+. It is a chick flick in book version, with a slight hint of suspense, all the while staying pure.
I received this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
