Prize of My Heart by Lisa Norato.

Brogan Talvis is in anguish. While he is a successful privateer, there is still one thing missing from his life; his beloved son. The only person related to him by blood, Brogan was dashed when he learned that his late wife had given up his only child. Lorena Huntley loves Drew as a mother would, if only his adoption had not began with such tragic events.  When Lorena is mysteriously abducted from her home, it is up to Brogan to save her, and tell the truth about his son.
What a fantastic book.  Although it had a somewhat slow beginning, it picked up quickly. The plot was absolutely intriguing, and it was wonderful how detailed the author’s descriptions were. It almost felt as if you were at sea. I also loved how frequently God was mentioned, and always seen as a loving father. The plot took an incredibly interesting turn,  and I was in turmoil during the chapter where I didn’t know how it would turn out. Overall, it was an incredibly fascinating and captivating book. It had a completely unique plot, and a very pure premise. There is talk of an illegitimate child, so I would recommend this book to ages 13+. If you choose to read this book, I guarantee you it will be a good investment of your time.
This book was given to me by Bethany House Publishers  in exchange for an honest review.
